Welcome to the new online format Brisbane Camera Group News and Impact newsletters. The Impact magazine is a long standing and much valued tradition within BCG, which provides members with: updates on club happenings; summaries of events and activities in the wider photographic community; articles on seeing and creating great images; and much more.



Impact began, way back when, as a printed newsletter. In recent years print has remained the primary format, but it has also been published as an online PDF on the club website (check out past issues here) . Following the launch of the BCG website in 2006, we are now ready to produce the BCG News and Impact newsletters in a fully online format. The advantages of the new online format are:
  • we can deliver our fabulous newsletter direct to your inbox each month;
  • you can browse the content and select which articles you want to read, without having to download a large PDF file;
  • you can follow recommended weblinks through to other great resources available online; and
  • the club saves on printing costs.

BUT DON'T BE ALARMED... We know there are members who do not have easy access to the internet and we will continue to produce a print copy of the BCG News and Impact newsletters, with all the very same content, for those members. If you are a BCG member and would like to receive a print copy of the newsletters please see me (Impact Editor - Rebecca) at one of our BCG meetings.

So why do I keep mentioning two newsletters, namely BCG News and Impact? Well these are really two complementary services.

BCG News will be sent to everyone registered on the BCG website (visitors, Affiliates & Members) 1-2 times a month to let you know what has been happening at BCG and what is planned for the coming months.

Members and Affiliates, in addition to receiving BCG News, will also receive the monthly edition of Impact, which includes special premium content such as:
  • Get Inspired (photographic websites, local exhibitions or photo opportunities)
  • Creative Eye (the art of photography)
  • Digital Darkroom (digital workflow, file management, software, etc)
  • Online Resources
  • Member Profiles
