How Club Scoring Works

  • A continuous record of each member's scored points is maintained throughout their membership of the Club.

  • Members may inspect their score at any time convenient to the scorer, and scores are published in "Impact" periodically.

Club achievement badges are awarded according to the number of points acquired. The points won in Monthly, Annual and Interclub competitions are automatically collated by our Club Scorekeeper, but those acquired in competitions outside Club and Interclub must be claimed, along with evidence (e.g. Catalogue or Report Card), from the Scorekeeper directly.

Achievement badges are presented twice yearly - at the Annual General Meeting and at the Annual Dinner and Trophy Night.

  • Monthly and Annual Competition scores only are considered for annual trophies.

  • Points from Interclub and Outside Competitions are included in Life Scores only, and count towards the awarding of Badges.

Return of Badges

Members receiving any new badge other than Silver must return their previous badge to the Secretary. Members upgrading to new badges must first return thier original or will be charged for the new badge.

Member Upgradings and Regradings

Recommendations for upgrading are made by the Scorekeeper to the Committee at the conclusion of a year's competition. The formula for upgrading is Total Score in Monthly Competitions in Prints, Slides and/or Digital Projected Images (minus entry points) divided by the Number of Entries submitted.

  • If, after a year's competition, this result is an average point score of 4 or more, then upgrading is recommended.

  • These points must be obtained from a minimum number of entries, i.e. 75% of the year's total number of monthly competitions.

  • Members will be invited, on reaching the set standard, to accept upgrading. This upgrading can be declined for 1 year. However, continuation of appropriate standards in the following year will make upgrading compulsory for that member.

  • Individuals who wish to have their current grading reviewed may apply, in writing, to the Committee for consideration of their grade. Re-grading (up or down) will be effective before the beginning of each competition year.
