The BCG Committee is currently developing a BCG Gallery Policy which will detail standards and procedures governing use of the gallery. Until this Policy is published, the following guidelines apply: 1. The BCG Committee has established an image gallery as part of the club website to provide registered users with limited online space to display a sample of their photographic work to the public. 2. Registered users will be registered under one of two categories: 2.1 BCG Member, being a financial, honourary or life member of BCG; or
2.2 BCG Visitor, being a
regular attendee of BCG meetings who is not a BCG Member. 3. Registered users are responsible for their own album and the images contained within that album.
4. It is anticipated that
registered users may wish to display artistic images which include some
nudity. However, images which depict explicit nudity, sexual activity,
violence, drug use or otherwise offensive content should not be posted.
5. The BCG Committee retains
the absolute right (though not the obligation) to remove any images
that do not comply with these guidelines or remove gallery privileges
from any registered user for any reason whatsoever. 6. Any content which contravenes these guidelines should be reported to the webmaster. Reports should include details of the image; name of album and sub-albums, and name of the image. If the webmaster finds that the image contravenes these guidelines it may be removed immediately and the incident reported to the BCG Committee for confirmation and further action. 7. The following quotas will be enforced on all albums, dependent on the category of the registered users: 7.1 BCG Member - 10 MB; or 7.2 BCG Affiliate - 5MB; or
7.3 BCG Visitor - 2 MB. 8. Images posted to the site will be automatically resized to 600 pixels wide, and the maximum acceptable file size will be 300KB. 9. The images contained within each album remain the property of the registered user responsible for that album. BCG reserves the right to use an image stored in any album as an example of content within the gallery. Users may apply their own watermarks to their images as they choose. All watermarks are the responsibility of the user. BCG nor its agents will be responsible for any theft or plagiarism of images stored on the site. BCG has implemented suitable systems to limit 'hotlinking' to images in the interests of the BCG site access. |
