Anything Goes
In September there will be something new for the club - an "Anything Goes" photo night. On the Focus night (September 27th) bring along anything you have produced from your photos - from a set of coffee mugs to a large canvas or a troupe of dancers in photo-emblazoned T shirts.
Those entering items are asked to bring them along early and have them set up before 7:30 pm. The hall will be set up with as many tables as are available and we expect to use a large proportion of the area for displays. However, if you can bring a stand-alone display such as an easel or small table, that would be appreciated and could add to the attractiveness of your entry.
If you wish to show an AV, it would be a good idea to make sure you can stand alone with the setup. Bring your own extension lead and power board, just in case. And you might consider using headphones for the sound.
Club members may enter as many items as they wish. Each entry will incur a fee of $2, which will go into the prize pool. All attendees, including entrants, can buy a set of five voting cards, which will cost $5. Proceeds of this will also go into the prize pool.
Those attending will have the opportunity to walk around the exhibits and discuss the items with the exhibitors. Entrants will be asked to stand by their creations and answer questions. There may be the opportunity for some general explanation of "How (or WHY?) I did it". Each exhibit will have a bowl for collection of voting cards and members will be able to vote for their favourite items. At the end of the night the votes will be tallied and prizes awarded from the prize pool for first, second and third and "most creative", which will be voted on by a special judge.
The better your entry looks, the more votes it will generate! Come along, have a go and enjoy the many uses to which our photos can be put.

The club polo shirts have arrived and they look very smart. You may have seen some at PSQ2010. We have a range of sizes and they will be on sale at club nights. Prices are a very reasonable $25 each and $47 for two. Many thanks to Brian Cronin whose company, BAC Corporate Collections, did us a good deal on the production.

Mark Glenday is offering 25 spots for club members to use his studio - free. This includeslights and furniture. What an offer! Mark hastold us that, if members take the offer and they require a model, he would be morethan happy to arrange one for them and he will try and get them as TFP's (timefor prints). A model usually requires a make-up artist; these cost about $70.00 per hour.
If anyone would like anymore information, contact Mark via e-mail,
