Brisbane Camera Group Patrons

Don McInnes - January 1950 - July 1986

Don McInnes founded BCG on the 1 st October 1949. Don became the Interim President on the date and resigned that role in January 1950 to become the first BCG Patron.

Israel (Izzy) Barnbaum - July 1986 - November 1994

Izzy Barnbaum was a BCG Foundation Member and BCG President in 1955. Izzy passed away while still BCG Patron in November 1994.

Bill Smit - February 1995 - October 2021

Bill Smit joined BCG in 1952. Bill held numerous BCG roles as well as being active in the broader photographic community.

John Lomas – October 2021 - current

John Lomas joined BCG in 1977 and was BCG President from 1987 to 1989. John is still an active member.

Traditionally the  Patrons of the Brisbane Camera Group, have contributed a great deal to our club. Our most recently appointed Patron, John Lomas, is no exception. He is always in attendance at all BCG club meetings, our AGM, the Annual Dinner, inter-club competitions and conventions and the Annual PSQ Judges’ Forum.  He is always there for us when we need his advice and very generous with his support.
