Monthly Competitions are held February through to October each year. Each month there is a Set Subject or members can compete in the Open section. On the 4th Monday of the month our members' images are displayed and critiqued by a PSQ accredited judge or professional photographer and assessed for Merits or Honours.

Competition nights are a valuable insight into what makes a good image, and what can make a good image great.

Meeting Format

The judge will have received the images, prints and DPIs two weeks beforehand and will have assessed the images before the meeting night.

On the night each image is displayed in turn and the judge will give their assessment of the image and will discuss why the image received the award it did. Where appropriate, suggestions may be made as to how the image may be improved.
